Another NHL Draft is in the books for us as far as scouting and compiling rankings are concerned. All that we have left is a trip to Florida for the draft itself. Our final rankings is a full Top 211 which is included in our NHL Draft Black Book and we include our top 30 right here.
To say it’s a tight grouping at the top of this draft is an understatement. We spend more hours ranking our top 30 than any draft in recent memory. Connor McDavid leads the way but we will jump right to number #3 on our list with Mitch Marner, who we had ranked 4th in the pre-season. Noah Hanifin sits 4th on our list followed by Kyle Connor from the Youngstown Phantoms. Connor sat 7th on our pre-season list way back in September. One player not on our pre-season list was Ivan Provorov, he sits 9th on our final list. Provorov at 9th overall says a lot about how good the top 10 is this year.
Way back when the weather started getting really cold we dropped Denis Gurianov into our top 30 at #27 overall. He rose up to 16th overall after an even better second half. He flashed some of his talent for the huge number of scouts in Switzerland at the U18 in April.
