Olympiques Trade Twice

Gatineau, December 22, 2012 "" The Gatineau Olympiques made two transactions at the opening of the trade period this morning. They first traded their defenseman Anthony Cortese to the PEI Rockets in exchange for the left winger of 17 years old, Kelley Bent. He's played 18 games last season with the Rocket and two this year. He has 1 point. He's 5'11 and 185 lbs.

The Olympiques also obtained the defenseman of 17 years old, Jean-Simon Deslauriers from the Cape-Breton Screaming Eagles. In return, the Olympiques gave away their 2nd round pick in 2014. In 54 games with the Sidney team, he scored one goal and 7 assists for a total of 8 points. Choice of first round in 2011, Deslauriers had left the Sreaming Eagles on his own will at the beginning of the season. He measures 5 ' 11 and weighs 165 lbs.

Screaming Eagles Make Several Trades

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles completed four trades today during the first day of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey Leagues December trade period.

The first deal saw Cape Breton trade 19-year-old forward Blake Millman (1993-02-20) to the Quebec Remparts in exchange for a 5th round draft pick (2013). Millman played 103 career games with the Screaming Eagles and recorded 5 goals, 3 assists, and 206 penalty minutes.

The Screaming Eagles then traded the 5th round pick that they received from Quebec in the Millman deal to acquire Florence, NS native Michael Lyle (1995-08-03) from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The 17-year-old forward played 53 games with the Titan over the span of two seasons and recorded 1 goal and 4 assists.

Additionally, the Screaming Eagles traded their 3rd round (2013) draft pick to the Drummondville Voltigeurs to acquire 19-year-old forward Bryce Milson (1993-01-25). Milson, a third year player from Miramichi, NB had 5 goals and 6 assists in 32 games with the Voltigeurs this season.

The final deal saw the Screaming Eagles trade their 2011 first round draft pick defensemen Jean-Simon Deslauriers to the Gatineau Olympiques for a 2nd round pick (2014). Deslauriers played 54 career games with the Screaming Eagles and recorded 1 goal and 7 assists.
