Jacob Josefson, C/RW Djurgarden
A natural centre, this guy is a thinker, who has great anticipation of what could develop and makes excellent decisions with the puck. At 6’0”, 187 lbs, he’s average size, but competes hard and is always willing to engage in battles for loose pucks. Not more than an average skater, but his smarts and positioning give him the level of room he needs to be successful.
Has a good shot, but does tend to pass too much, which is a product of playing on a team with so many older players, where he defers to their experience. If he shot a little more, he would score a lot more than he does. Is being brought along slowly by his club team, who has produced the likes of Mats Sundin in the past.
Showed well at the World Juniors playing wing, but is much better at centre. Can raise his game at crunch time, which is a hugely positive trait and isn’t afraid of playing in key situations. A crafty young guy with sizable potential as a future two way player with offensive upside. We think a very safe first round pick.
