Remi Elie: 2013 NHL Draft Prospect
The London Knights Next Star
Names like Domi, Horvat and Zadorov are mentioned often, but one player that we expect to rise up the NHL Draft rankings is 6'1" forward Remi Elie.
Elie first popped on to our radar last year as a member of the CCHL's Hawkesbury Hawks. After a strong season with the Junior 'A' club, we were anxious to see how quickly he could make an impact for the Knights.
It didn't take very long at all.
HP's head scout Ryan Yessie attended the Knights training camp and, just like Josh Anderson stuck out like a sore thumb to us last year, such was the case with Elie this season. "He was one of the best players in camp period. You could see the talent right away." Yessie explained.
We are only a few days away from November and Elie now has 12 games under his belt. HockeyProspect.com has scouted several of them.
Despite limited ice-time in many of the games and posting just 4 points, Elie was able to impress us every time.
"One thing that jumped out at me after watching a few shifts was that Remi plays a pro-style game," said HP's Director of Scouting, Mark Edwards.
"He keeps it simple. He doesn't try to dangle through the neutral zone with all kinds of unnecessary moves. He plays a puck in, puck out, protect the puck, drive to the net, battle hard - pro-style game."
