Our latest update of our 2018 NHL Draft Rankings doesn’t change in the top three spots on the list. Rasmus Dahlin, the injured Andrei Svechnikov and Adam Boqvist all remain in their same slots as they were on our late September list. There is a change at the fourth overall spot, as Filip Zadina moves up from 6th to 4th on our new ranking. Brady Tkachuk falls one spot from 4th to 5th and Rasmus Kupari slides from 5th overall to 6th overall.

The remainder of the players in the top 10 remain the same as they were on our last ranking with the exception of Grigori Denisenko who moves up from 19th to 10th on our list. Ty Smith fell from 9th to 11th to make room for Denisenko. Noah Dobson moved up from his spot in the second round and Alexander Alexeeyev returned to the ice and makes his debut in our top 31. Dominik Bokk, Jay O’Brien and Jesse Ylonen are also newcomers to our top 31 this month.

HockeyProspect.com’s Mark Edwards noted that the number of viewings on players are rising quickly. “Our scouts have seen a lot of games since the release of our last list in September. For myself, on top of seeing prospects at home in the OHL, I’ve already been into Quebec twice to see some of the high end QMJHL eligibles and there was some movement amongst that group. I also travelled to Pittsburgh to watch all the USHL prospects, that just after we released our last ranking.”

It’s still early so there are still a few large discrepancies in viewings amongst some of the draft eligibles. The list reflects games played up to Sunday, November 5th Our next rankings release will come in December and will remain a top 62 prospects ranking.
