Swift Current Broncos at Acadie-Bathurst Titan, May 19, 2018
SC #5 Minulin, Artyom (2018) – Artyom struggled defensively all night. His speed and quickness was an issue once again. Hamilton’s pressure on the fore-check was too much for him to handle at times. He was able to contribute more offensively adding an assist on Swift Currents loan goal. Nothing flashy but was able to land a couple solid body checks. Pinched at the right time. Second power play and penalty kill unit.
SC #23 Patterson, Max (2018) – Max struggled tonight with the speed of the game. His skating just isn’t at the level it needs to be. To have success Max needs to be cycling the puck down low and slowing the game down. His hands weren’t great tonight either, struggled handling the puck. He tried to establish himself physically but did not have much success. Second power play unit.
HAM #11 Nurse, Issac (2018) – Great speed to his game tonight. Issac was able to create opportunities for himself off the rush. Had an excellent chance when he took the lead pass splitting the defenders and getting a breakaway, but was stopped by Skinner. Very strong on the penalty kill tonight. Showed no fear and a willingness to do whatever it took to win. First penalty kill unit.
HAM #17 Saigeon, Brandon (2018) – Brandon was demoted off the first line to start the game tonight. He was non-existent for about half the game before he woke up. He showed off his vision with some great cross-ice passes on the power play. Inconsistency was his major issue tonight. Second power play unit.
HAM #34 Kaliyev, Arthur (2019) – Arthur didn’t get much ice in tonight’s game. When he did he made the most of it, generated a couple good scoring chances again. Had a great one-time opportunity in the high slot but was stopped by Skinner.
